Construction management priorities
Programme & sequencing
Identify key activities, dependencies, procurement lead times and access requirements. Set out how progress will be reported and how delays will be addressed.
Quality & inspections
Define material and technical submissions, inspection points and test requirements against the contract. Record non-conforming work and the actions required to resolve it.
Safety & site conditions
Identify work risks, temporary arrangements and responsibilities before activities begin. Address access, lifting, work at height and interactions with occupied or public areas where relevant.
Specialist subcontractor coordination
Clarify package boundaries, information release dates and installation interfaces. Coordinate specialist works with civil, structural and building-services activities.
Changes & commercial records
Record instructions and proposed changes, assess programme and cost implications, and obtain the required decisions through the agreed contract procedures.
Environment & surrounding communities
Consider drainage, sediment, dust, noise, waste and access around the site. Define project-specific controls and the applicable approval responsibilities.
Completion & handover
Plan completion as part of the construction sequence. Agree inspections, system tests, witness requirements and closure of outstanding items with the relevant parties.
- Inspection and test records
- As-built drawings and asset information, where included
- Operation and maintenance manuals for relevant systems
- Outstanding works and defect records
- Training and handover arrangements within the agreed scope
